Barentz Acquires Viachem in the USA

Barentz International, a global life science ingredients distributor, announced today that it has acquired Viachem, Ltd (“Viachem”), a specialty distributor of life science ingredients and specialty chemicals. By combining a dedicated market research function and digitally enabled sales & marketing capabilities, Viachem represents a market growth engine for Barentz and its principal suppliers. The team will continue to be led by Mike Efting, Viachem’s President & Founder, and offices will remain in Plano, TX and Augusta, GA.

Barentz International, a global life science ingredients distributor, announced today that it has acquired Distribuciones Industriales Variadas, S.A. ("Divsa" or the "Business"), Central America's leading value-add distributor of life science ingredients and specialty chemicals. With locations across Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Panama, Divsa represents the ideal fit to bridge Barentz' well-established presence in North and South America. The team will continue to be led by Mario Mena, Divsa's President & Founder, and the headquarters will remain in Guatemala City.

(the “Business”), a value-add distributor of specialty ingredients into the Mexican pharmaceutical and nutrition markets. Through its technical sales team, in-house formulary capabilities, and a product portfolio focused on specialty excipients, the Business provides the natural platform to further expand into the Mexican market as Barentz Mexico. The team will continue to be led by Julio Rendon and the headquarters will remain in Mexico City.
