Talent Acquisition Specialist

Summary of the Position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist partners with management to develop and execute talent acquisition strategy and ensure alignment with company objectives of targeted aggressive growth, market leadership, and continuous improvement. In addition, they will support other areas such as compliance, employee development and employee retention

Essential Duties and responsibilities*

  • Design and implement an overall recruiting strategy to attract and source candidates for all positions in the US and Canada
  • Develop, monitor, and apply recruiting and onboarding best practices
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions and specifications for all positions
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify hiring needs (current and future) and fill open positions throughout the North America utilizing the position requisition process
  • Ensure that diversity and inclusion practices are recognized, adopted, and integrated into recruitment strategies to ensure opportunities are presented to diverse talent pools
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate websites, job boards, social media sites, college job boards, etc.
  • Source and attract candidates through networking, databases, professional affiliations, social media, employee referrals, etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining our Employee Referral Program
  • Grow a strong talent pipeline for key positions throughout the organization
  • Conduct interviews and/or initial screenings using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates
  • Assess candidates’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience, and aptitudes and compare them to the job requirements and culture fit
  • Maintain applicant data for recordkeeping purposes and EEO and Affirmative Action compliance
  • Schedule interviews for candidates and post-interview meetings for hiring managers and key personnel
  • Complete all recruiting steps including the development and presentation of job offers, background checks, drug screens, reference checks and assessments
  • Serve as the “keeper” of all Restrictive Covenants Agreements and ensure compliance for all new hires and/or promotions where applicable
  • Prepare necessary paperwork for all promotions and job transfers and work with management to ensure a positive, smooth transition
  • Manage and oversee the references, background checks, and drug screening processes
  • Create and manage internship programs
  • Communicate in a positive, professional manner and create a positive experience with ALL candidates
  • Responsible for social media employer branding including, but not limited to, Indeed/Glassdoor, LinkedIn Recruiting
  • Responsible for initial onboarding of ALL new hires and collaborate with hiring managers to create and utilize onboarding that is effective, engaging, and supports our pillars and fundamentals
  • Serve as a resource to effectively streamline and integrate employment paperwork and onboarding activities for ‘acquired’ talent as part of our M&A activities
  • Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports as requested
  • Act as a point of contact to build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
  • Maintain relationships with 3rdparty recruiters when necessary and act as a liaison between them and the hiring managers
  • Promote the company’s reputation and attractiveness as an excellent place to work
  • Support various efforts to retain top talent
  • Other duties as requested

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience
  • At least five (5) years proven experience in recruiting in both the US and Canada, preferably in an in-house manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Previous experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS or HRMS recruiting software, preferably ADP Workforce Now
  • Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews (structures, behavioral, competency-based, stress, etc.) using various methods including video, phone, in-person
  • Strong continuous process improvement skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to design and implement recruiting strategies for all positions including hourly, salary non-exempt, salary exempt, and executive
  • Experience with EEOC and Affirmative Action reporting requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, data entry and organizational skills
  • The ability to work in a team environment, prioritize work assignments and act independently to resolve potential conflicts
  • Self-motivated, high energy, and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook
  • Experience using Microsoft products including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Act legally and ethically in all professional relationships in adherence with Barentz’ values and fundamentals

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
