Supply Chain and Logistics Manager

Full Job Description
**This position will be in either the Cleveland, OH or Chicago, IL area**

Summary of the Position
The Supply Chain and Logistics Manager for North America is responsible developing and managing all aspects of our supply chain and transportation services solutions within the organization (domestic and international). Individual will analyze and implement operational and strategic initiatives to achieve success, cost savings and continuous improvement for the organization.

Essential Duties and responsibilities*
· Establish Best-in-Class North American supply chain structure, Transportation Solution, and 3PL partnerships to optimize operational flow, service levels and cost efficiencies
· Establish metrics for Logistics and Transportation services and partners to track OTIF, supplier performance, quality of service, cost savings, etc.
· Negotiate contracts and rates for all modes of transportation and serve as owner of carrier, broker, freight forwarder, 3PL relationships
· Lead training and implementation on both current and potentially new systems that manage transportation
· Direct all International Transportation Operations and create tools to manage
· Review quality/compliance procedures and processes, identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead initiatives where necessary
· Establish solution to maintain HTS by product and manage all tariffs, MTB, GSP provisions that may apply so changes can be communicated and implemented
· Improve the level of service offered to our customers and suppliers via unique and new service initiatives for LTL, TL, bulk, domestic, and international modes of transportation
· Improve logistics of the organization for both domestic and international supply chain
· Develop program and partnerships to manage bulk deliveries (ISO tanks)
· Serve as a “power user” and champion of our ERP and TMS systems as related to freight costing, routing, tracking, etc.
· Implement SOPs for managing freight cost and carriers within the system and our TMS processes
· P&L responsibility for freight expense; reconcile monthly and develop positive cost savings initiatives
· Regularly analyze transportation lanes and volume to develop new solutions; Monitor metrics, analyze trends and make recommendations based on available information
· Point of contact for all Vertical Operations Managers and Presidents on freight related questions, opportunities, requests, new business, recommendations, analysis, gaps, etc
· Responsible for ensuring our owned, leased, and operated vehicles are within compliance; develop lane optimization solutions
· Implement and lead network optimization initiatives
· Identify necessary resources, tools and/or people to achieve departmental objectives
· Provide regular reports on performance of supply chain and develop and execute plans to improve performance where needed
· Provide monthly reports: On “state of supply chain environment” that includes micro and macro impacts to organization. Freight rate trends both external and internal for benchmarking and potential pricing action with commercial teams or Principal management
· Participate on Insight to Profit reviews – analyze opportunities to control freight leakage (outbound) and cost creep (inbound)
· Participate in various projects individually and/or team based as a representative of Operations
· Perform other duties as requested

Education:
Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:
Transportation, Supply Chain, Logistics, global: 10 years (Preferred)
Management: 5 years (Preferred)
chemical industry: 3 years (Preferred)
