Sales Manager

Full Job Description
**This position covers the Eastern United States. Candidate should have access to a major airport for frequent travel.**

Summary of the Position
The Sales Manager is responsible for managing business within their assigned territory/ location. This includes sales development, profitability, volume growth, customer development and retention, as well as representation of the company in the most professional manner reinforcing our values and culture.
Essential Duties and responsibilities*
· Retain customer relationships and deliver gross profit growth within assigned territory
· Ensure business opportunities are developed at acceptable gross profit margins
· Ensure key relationships are developed and documented at multiple levels at all accounts and opportunities
· Participate in sales visits with the sales team on a regular basis
· Help identify customer needs and match to our products and solutions
· Coach and challenge direct reports to identify and exploit opportunities
· Ensure the completion of sales productivity documentation: visit reports, sales call reports, internal memos, etc.
· Support relationships with key Principal Suppliers as defined and collaborate on profitable sales growth
· Participate in product and sales training as scheduled and ensure direct reports do the same. Suggest relevant and required training to support the success of the company
· Specific account management based on coordination with company teams
· Sustain and improve the level of service offered to our customers via unique and new service initiatives working within company operating procedures
· Communicate opportunities for improvement, participate in the investigation into continuous improvement when there is a service failure
· Identify longer term strategies for product and market expansion to grow the company’s business
· Participate in ongoing professional developmental
· Hire, promote, and develop direct reports and provide effective leadership with ongoing communication, motivation, and development opportunities
· Promote the company’s reputation, culture, and attractiveness as an excellent place to work
· Other duties as requested

A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, related field, or equivalent experience
Demonstrated success in a chemical distribution sales role in products and channels that are the same or similar to our business
10+ years minimum technical sales/services, product management and/or lab experience
2+ years sales management experience preferred
Professional sales and analytical lab training
Strong continuous improvement skills
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Professional sales management discipline including the use of CRM, documentation of sales activities, and development of a territory and region plan
Success introducing new products to market and supporting base business
Effective leadership skills
The ability to work in a team environment, prioritize work assignments and act independently to resolve potential conflicts
· Self-motivated, high energy, and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook
· Experience using Microsoft products including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Act legally and ethically in all professional relationships in adherence with our values and fundamentals

Bachelor's (Preferred)

Sales Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Technical Sales/ Service, Product Mgt, Lab: 10 years (Preferred)
Sales management: 2 years (Preferred)
Chemical Distribution: 5 years (Preferred)
