Quality Coordinator

Summary of the Position: The Quality Coordinator collaborates with the Regulatory and Quality Manager (RQM) in developing and implementing processes and systems to ensure products are controlled and evaluated against industry and regulatory standards. The Quality Coordinator is responsible for receiving, inventorying, and shipping product samples. This role involves ensuring that samples received by Barentz are properly labeled, stored, and shipped in an organized manner that meets both customer delivery and regulatory/quality standards.

Essential Duties and responsibilities*

  • Working with the Documentation Coordinator to review and manage existing documentation
  • Order, track, and receive samples ensuring samples are compliantly labeled and contain necessary documentation
  • Properly organize, store, and record all sample distribution transactions for tracking and information purposes
  • Ship samples along with appropriate documentation following transportation regulatory requirements as applicable
  • Accurately complete customer regulatory requests and documentation
  • Organize regulatory information for easy reference and evaluation
  • Support the RQM and business divisions on special projects as requested. This involves undertaking regulatory and quality assurance improvement projects
  • Work in a team environment for mutual success
  • Manage multiple priorities
  • Support and lead by example, Barentz’ culture, strategies, pillars, and fundamentals
  • Act legally and ethically in all professional relationships in adherence with Barentz’ values and fundamentals
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Perform other duties as requested

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science degree or relevant work experience required (food science or related discipline preferred)
  • Diploma in quality assurance is an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance related to human nutrition
  • Demonstrated focus on safety
  • Attention to detail and organization, with a high standard of accuracy
  • Customer focused and the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Possesses Integrity, professionalism, and drive
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to the audience as needed
  • Effectively share regulatory knowledge with confidence.
  • Self-motivated, high energy, and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook
  • Software knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, as well as Adobe Writer
  • Act legally and ethically in all professional relationships in adherence with Barentz’ values and fundamentals
