A-C additives for conventional and engineering polymers
Low density polyethylene (LDPE) homopolymer in a powdered form, for use in solvent borne coatings, heatset and liquid solvent borne inks, to improve surface properties such as rub, mar & abrasion resistance, by lowering the COF. It is also used as a gellant for hydrocarbon oils, a paraffin crystal nucleator in wax blends such as candles, and a viscosity diluent in HMAs. Can also be partially substituted for FT (Fisher Tropsch) Wax in adhesive applications without detracting from formulation properties. In PVC applications it finds use as an external lubricant.
Polyethylene waxes enhance plastics processing by:
- Providing better flow
- Offering better mold release
- Improving the lubricating effect
- Bettering the dispersion of pigments and fillers
- Increasing the compatibility of resins
- Providing nucleation and a higher degree of crystallinity.
This leads to shorter cycle time, increased gloss and improved clarity in films.
KEY BENEFITS:
- Efficient external lubrication
- Gloss control
- Fusion control
- Control of mold release
- Anti-sticking and reduced plate-out
