Evabopol SEM

Evabopol SEM is a functional monomer which combines a highly reactive vinyl group with a sulfonic aicd group. The unique properties of the sulfonic acid group make Evabopol SEM useful in many applications. Evabopol SEM is an efficient emulsion stabilizing co-monomer, which when used in low concentrations results in the formulation of polymer dispersions that exhibit stability to shear and compounding. The use of Evabopol SEM allows for substantial reduction in the level of conventional emulsifiers in emulsion polymer formulations. Evabopol SEM stabilized emulsions are free of high concentrations of nonvolatile and migratory sufactants. Thus Evabopol SEM promotes adhesion of polymers to various metals, thermoplastics, and to a lesser degree glass.
