Nadic Methyl Anhydride (NMA)

Dixie Chemical has completed the capacity expansion for Nadic Methyl Anhydride (NMA) at its plant in Pasadena, Texas. The new capacity supports the growing North American demand for high temperature, high performance epoxies hardeners. The expansion also ensures security of supply to customers and supports the global energy transition by contributing towards a green sustainable future.

Dixie Chemical, Pasadena TX is the sole north American producer of NMA which is complimented by a complete anhydride portfolio of epoxy curing agents such as MHHPA, MTHPA, HHPA, DDSA, THPA, various blends and pre-catalyzed grades. As a US based specialty chemical company Dixie complements anhydrides with fuel & lube additives, paper sizing agents (ASA) and a whole array of specialty additives/chemicals.

Dixie formulated systems offer controlled reactivity and viscosity that are specially designed for complex and demanding conditions in the CASE, Composites and Potting markets. This is supported with strong technical support to help customers achieve the highest performance from their epoxy products.

THPA

THPA (TETRAHYDROPHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE) Epoxy Curing Agents

Dixie Chemical Company makes a range of alicyclic anhydrides which are highly suitable for curing epoxy resins. THPA is a fluffy white powder commonly used to cure epoxy resins in many challenging applications such as:

• Fiber reinforced composites used in high performance aerospace and military applications
• Mechanically demanding applications like filament wound bearings
• It provides excellent electrical properties for use in high voltage applications
• Ideal for encapsulating electronic components and circuits

THPA can also be used as a building block to produce alkyd resin and as a component in polyester and styrene resins production. Further uses include the production of plasticizers and pigments.
