Busan 11-M1 is a multifunctional pigment for use in coatings as a corrosion inhibitor, tannin stain blocker, flame retardant, ultraviolet light stabilization, flash rust and early rust inhibition, and metal stabilization. Busan 11-M1 is the only EPA registered barium metaborate currently on the market today. Busan 11-M1, modified barium metaborate monohydrate, performs as a synergist in formulations containing phosphorous compounds and /or halogen donors. In many applications, it can be used to replace antimony trioxide on an equal weight basis. In other applications a combination of Busan 11-M1 and antimony trioxide is preferred.
