Busan 11-M2 is a multifunctional pigment for use in coatings as a corrosion inhibitor, tannin stain blocker, flame retardant, and ultraviolet light stabilizer. Because it is multifunctional, Busan 11-M2 can replace several products commonly formulated into coating systems, simplifying formulating and lowering costs. Busan 11-M2 is based on barium metaborate monohydrate. Due to the low refractive index (1.55 - 1.60), it can be used in a wide variety of colors, whites, and even clears. Busan 11-M2 is composed of substances approved for use under 21 CFR 176.180 of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations.
