THIXATROL AS 8053 and PM 8056 Organic Thixotropes for Adhesives and Sealants

These new THIXATROL Organic Thixotropes from Elementis, an industry leader in innovation and sustainability, greatly improves the formulation of adhesives and sealants for high performance applications. The low temperature activation enables up to 50% increased manufacturing efficiency. The high share of bio‐based raw materials creates products to meet high sustainability demands. These rheology modifiers are amide based powders and are used in solvent based, solvent free, and high solid systems such as MS polymer and SPUR sealants for example.

THIXATROL rheology modifiers for adhesives and sealants provide the following system benefits versus traditional rheological additives.

• Lower activation temperature allows up to 50% higher throughput, energy savings, and improved production process
• Up to 50% higher efficiency resulting in excellent slump/sag resistance
• Enhanced extrudability, no thread formation
• Improved viscosity stability on storage
• THIXATROL® AS 8053 and PM 8056 are labeling- free and based on renewable raw material sources

Don’t wait to formulate with THIXATROL AS 8053 and PM 8056 in your adhesive and sealant products. Save money and time in production and create a higher performing product for your customers!

High performance coatings using TEOS!

BRB International BV, headquartered in the Netherlands is a global producer of specialty silicones, core intermediates, and silanes used as adhesion promoters, cross-linkers, coupling agents, surface modifiers, and water scavengers.

BRB International BV offers Silanil Si28, Tetraethyl Orthosilicate, also known as Tetraethoxysilane and abbreviated TEOS, is mainly used as a crosslinking agent in silicone polymers and as a precursor to silicon dioxide in the semiconductor industry. TEOS is also used as the silica source for synthesis of some zeolites. TEOS is used in the production of aerogel, which exploits the reactivity of the Si-OR bonds. Silanil Si28 contains ethyl groups, making it compatible with a wide range of organic solvents. BRB Silanil Si28 is easily converted to silicon dioxide by hydrolysis reaction and released by product as ethanol, after that condensation reaction can incur and convert silicon dioxide in each molecule to be Si-O-Si linkage

BRB Silanil Si28 is mainly used as:

• Crosslink agent in polysiloxane or silicone polymers
• Creation of Aerogels used as thermal and conductive insulators
• Precursor of silicon dioxide in Sol-Gel system for semi-conductors
• Binder for inorganic fillers and pigments in precision casting and coating
• Hard coat solution on glass or polycarbonate lens for scratch resistance
• Component in zinc-based primer in anticorrosion coating system
• Crosslinking agent or curing agent in silicone sealant
