1,4-dioxane is a chemical that is commonly found in household & commercial cleaning products as a byproduct of certain manufacturing processes. It has been classified as a possible human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer and is also considered a groundwater contaminant by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
In December 2022, the Environmental Conservation law (ECL) updated the established limits on the amount of 1,4-dioxane that can be present in household & commercial cleaning products sold in the state of New York.
The maximum allowable concentration was set to 2 ppm of 1,4-dioxane on December 31, 2022, and will decrease to 1 ppm on December 31, 2023, for household & commercial cleaning products.,
If you need support regarding these regulations, Barentz can help. We not only provide products that meet 1,4-dioxane regulation standards, but also formulation and regulatory support.
