Marketing Specialist
Type of Position: Permanent Full-time
Location: Oakville, Ontario
Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm

General Summary
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for working collaboratively with the commercial team, developing and implementing marketing strategies to optimize marketing effectiveness in their assigned vertical and enhance our customer and principal experience. In addition, the Marketing Specialist may provide assistance and support to the entire marketing department and collaborate with others throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Gather data on existing and potential customers, competitors, or market segments for use in the development of targeted marketing strategies
Collect information or specifications for use in data sheets, promotional publications, presentations, brochures and prepare drafts
Develop and administer a calendar of marketing campaigns or other promotional opportunities including trade shows, etc. and ensure associated deadlines are met
Responsible for the creation and execution of e-mail marketing, videos, webinars, blogs, formulations, booklets, print/digital ads, graphics, charts, and social media campaigns
Work directly with the Marketing Manager to coordinate corporate branding over Barentz’ multiple verticals
Lead Barentz’ social media presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for vertical
Assist with tradeshow booth preparation (banners, literature, promos, shipping, set up)
Proofread marketing collateral (ads, product guides, articles, press releases, etc.)
Coordinate feature product information for monthly e-mail newsletters
Write company-wide press releases for media
Update & maintain vertical website with products, content, employees, press releases, blogs, headshots
Collaborate with sales on marketing tools, projects, product guides, sell sheets, business cards, etc.
Support executives, sales, and other departments as requested
Work independently and in a team environment on various ongoing projects
Support and lead by example, Barentz’ culture, values and fundamentals
Participate in ongoing personal development opportunities
In collaboration with the marketing team, work with translator to develop materials in French or Spanish language as needed to achieve the marketing goals
Experience with Uberflip or Paperflite content management software, a plus
Participate in weekly North American Marketing Team meetings
Perform other duties as requested

Education, Experience, Required Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
At least three (3) years of experience in marketing and graphic design
Hands on experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Microsoft Office (PowerPoint), CMS for webpage content (some HTML required), social media apps, Constant Contact, and Hootsuite
Strong attention to detail, data entry and organizational skills
Exceptional proofreading skills
The ability to work in a team environment, prioritize work assignments and act independently
Ability to be proactive on marketing ideas that create value for the organization and assigned vertical
Self-motivated, high energy, and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to the audience as needed
Software knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Act legally and ethically in all professional relationships in adherence with Barentz’ values and fundamentals
